I watched the new Rambo the other night, which I thought was pretty good. The village raid scene was a bit difficult to watch, but overall I enjoyed seeing Rambo kick major ass in all it’s blood and glory.
I knew the movie was extremely violent, but per my rule, I had avoided watching anything online except the trailer so as not to spoil all the good stuff. I wasn’t disappointed. It’s been awhile since I did a Top 10, and all those heads getting blown off sent me in search of a few more, so here you go. UPDATE: Big Trouble in Little China
To commenter JP - You, sir, are absolutely correct that this movie was left off. I even watched the fucking clip on YouTube with the intent to include it, then got distracted and completely forgot about it. I knew something was screwy considering this was supposed to a list of 12, but I only ended up with 11. The travesty has been rectified.

Whaaat??? What happened to the classic exploding head scene from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark? ‘Cmon! Belloq’s head exploded into a million little pices after looking at the ark. How can you NOT include it?

also - I think it’s important to limit this list to exploding heads only, therefore the ‘big trouble’ clip does not count.

Wait a minute… Where is Running Man, you know?.. the scene where the guy is wearing a bomb on his neck, expecting the barrier to be down… He runs for about 2 secs. even after his head is blown up… look it up!

Hey, nice recopilation u’ve created, i know an anecdote from pulp fiction’s head eplosion, i heard that tarantino told the same guy that made the explosive heads for scanners did it for his film…

The only head explosion I would add to this list is from an Australian western called The Proposition. An aborigine gets his head blown to pieces in stunning fashion. Great list though, I laughed very hard at some and was grossed out by others.
