Update: Whew, congratulations on getting here! I can hardly even get here at the moment.
There has been a mass influx of visitors the past couple of days thanks to some big links and my host servers are being overloaded (that’s not a complaint by the way…well the host server part maybe, but not the influx of visitors). I haven’t exceeded bandwidth so it’s not like I’m gone for awhile until the next billing period or anything. Apparently, my hosting company has a rule that I didn’t know about…one site can’t use more than 20% of the CPU at once. Therefore, what I have is spotty connectivity as the visitors ebb and flow. I’m working with my host company to get this worked out. I doubt this is more than an anomoly due to an unexpectedly popular post, but I do have some great ones coming up so maybe not. Hopefully not. If this continues or looks like there is a chance that it might, I will upgrade service.

I had heard so much about this movie and how crazy it was. By the time I saw it, I was expecting so much from it that despite its insanity, I was actually a bit disappointed. That doesn’t stop it from having some really nasty shit though.

When I started putting this together, I couldn’t get this one out of my mind. I didn’t really think I would find this scene “disgusting” like I remembered from when I was a kid. Disturbing maybe, but not disgusting, and compared to the rest of this list it is in a slightly different league. Still, It stuck in my head as one of the most disgusting things I had ever seen at the time. Maybe because I am pretty sure it was the first penis I had ever seen on film. When I found the clip and watched, I realized I was right. It’s still pretty fucking disgusting, and the look on his/her face could easily be in the top five of creepiest movie moments.

Dawn of the Dead (1978)
Honestly, I really liked the fast zombies of the Dawn of the Dead remake. A zombie that can actually catch you is pretty scary. On the other hand, there is something terrifying about becoming complacent since all you have to do is sidestep the slow ones and then one gets hold of you because you’re all cocky then the rest swarm you. I would imagine as they eat you alive the only thing you could really be thinking is, “How the hell am I so stupid that this slow-ass motherfucker caught me?”

It doesn’t have to be bloody to be disgusting. UPDATE: Ok, a little defense here…Yes, I could have easily picked another blood and guts or bodily fluids scene, but sometimes psychologically disturbing is much worse than in-your-face blood and guts disgusting. To me this scene is disgusting in that it is a perfect portrayal of the capacity of man to enjoy pure evil.

No, this isn’t a horror movie, and I still almost put it at number one. Watching this scene is the only time I can ever remember literally holding back vomit. You know how when you’re mouth starts to water and you get all hot right before you puke? Then you start retching? I had to turn away from the movie.

Dead Alive/Braindead
A Peter Jackson film makes a second appearance. This is the grossest scene in the grossest movie of all time. The whole movie is an exercise in disgusting excess (think zombie sex scene, which I couldn’t find) and this is truly crowning achievement of a crowning achievement of grossness.

Yeah, to me that one is much more psychological. I pegged it as disgusting because it is just so blatently evil. They’re just having so much fun as they dance around and torture this unsuspecting couple. Singing in the Rain just enforces it. I guess the truly disgusting part starts right as this clip ends when Alex rapes her in front of her husband. The perfect portrayal of the capacity for evil in man depicted in this scene is what I find disgusting.
Sure, I could have gone with another blood and guts scene, but like I said, sometimes it doesn’t take blood and guts to be disgusting.

One night me and my friend took his copy of Event Horizon and slowed down that scene where they find the video of the people doing all those gross things.
Believe it or not, it DOESN’T make that scene any less creepy. If anything, it made it harder for me to watch the movie for at least a couple months. The producers of that movie didn’t half-ass that one minute sequence.

None of these were that horrifically gruesome to me. The only movie that I’ve ever seen that made me come close to vomiting was definitely Jackass 2, when he drinks the cow semen. There’s just not part of the scene that’s not tremendously disturbing.

Man, I am amazed you put Van Wilder on the list, because before I started checking the list the first one to come to mind was that scene. It has to be one of the most gross scenes I have ever seen (and the movie is pretty bad itself, except for the med student who uses medical terms to insult people, he was pretty funny) You could also have added that scene from Date Movie, as well… you know… the one where Eddie Griffin plays basketball and…
In my opinion, toilet humor on TV (South Park, anyone?), movies, etc. has jumped the shark, although I never really found it THAT funny. Give room to more intelligent humor, Hollywood!

I almost put the Borat hotel scene, but it was one of those that crossed my mind at one point then I forgot about it.
I also almost put the Kathy Bates nude scene in from that one movie, I can’t think of the name right now.
And yes, you all are right…neglecting Pink Flamingos was a huge oversight. I have no excuse for except that I simply forgot about it. Hey, there’s always part two right?

grossest movie moment of all time- french movie, “irreversable.” guy gets his head smashed in with a fire extinguisher. They must’ve actually killed someone for this scene, it looks so real. His body twitches and shit at the end. holy crap

Some of these are just outright funny (at least to me) such as Sleepaway Camp. I don’t get scared of horror movies since it’s always the same cheesy stuff but sometimes, they make it funny in a way. The ‘grrring’ is just hilarious. But every once in awhile, they come up with something original such as in Ichi the Killer. That’s just gross factor X 10. But it’s awesome at the same time. I think at least one of these could’ve been replaced with a scene at the end of the movie, “Doom Generation”. A guy’s penis gets cut by shears (even though you don’t actually see it) but they way it’s done is original. The Exorcist is WAY overrated. I think the part in Scary Movie where they make fun of it is more sickening since they’re all throwing up on each other.

I forgot to add something. There’s also a scene in a japanese movie (forgot what it was called - it was on Sundance a long time ago). Two japanese girls have this guy tied up to a chair like in sexual bondage. At the same time of climax, they strangle him with a wire. But, you see the after-effect of him being dead. Switch to an angle to just below him and the condom pops off full of piss and splashes on the floor. It’s pretty sick but for some reason, that’s how I’d like to die. =)

The grossest scene ever, in my opinion (besides the eclairs in Van Wilder and the horse semen in Jackass 2) is in one of the American Pie movies, think it might be American Wedding. Stiffler has the dog turd in the wrapper and the woman comes up to him and thinks its a truffle and really wants to eat it, he ends up putting it in his mouth. That scene is priceless. His facial expressions as he has to talk to her, his teeth all covered with it… *shudder*. Also, from the same movie, when the Jason Biggs character shaves his crotch and dumps the hair out the window, then it gets sucked into the kitchen through an air vent and all the people are breathing it in and gagging, mass hysteria and panic ensues. It shows the cake being thrown in the trash, its just COVERED with hair… ewwwwww.
